There are several immediate openings in the following research-oriented positions, in connection with a NASA funded project on the analysis, modeling, and experimentation of Shape Memory Alloys. These positions will be part of research team (led by Prof. A F Saleeb), in the department of civil engineering, the University of Akron (UA).

Two post-doctorate positions, for duration of 12 to 18 months each, for candidates having strong background in mechanics, mathematics and computational scales. In addition to normal activities in conducting the specific tasks in the research project, including significant production of journal papers, these positions will also provide the opportunity to interact and provide initial training and guidance to new PhD students involved in the same project. US citizens and permanent residents are especially encouraged to apply for these positions.

Two research assistantships for graduate students pursuing their graduate PhD program in mechanics/structural engineering area of CE department at UA. Consideration will be given to both candidates with previous master degrees or those directly going to a PhD program following their bachelor degrees. (For graduate admission details at UA please visit, http://www.uakron.edu/admissions/graduate/)

Interested applicant should send their updated resumes, previous research summary and three reference letters to the following email: postdocandphdsuakron@gmail.com
