题目及摘要：Recent research activates in solar enhanced combustion/gasification

In this presentation, Dr Tian will talk about recent research activities in solar enhanced combustion and gasification that have been conducted in the Centre for Energy Technologies (CET) in the University of Adelaide. Particularly he will present the research results on a hybrid solar-enhanced receiver that is patented by CET; some of these preliminary results are obtained from undergraduate and master by coursework projects. Both experimental and numerical methods are implemented in these research activities. This presentation will mainly focus on the numerical methods and results.

Biography

Dr Zhao Tian is a senior lecturer at the School of Mechanical Engineering in the University of Adelaide, Australia. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University, China, in 1997 and a Master’s Degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2002. He attained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at RMIT University, Australia in 2007. His research and teaching interests focus on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and CFD modelling of engineering applications, particularly coal/biomass combustion, renewable flows and solar-enhanced combustion/gasification.
